Formerly known as Heritage Court, an
old school lobby bar reminiscent of
Bermuda’s heyday in tourism, the new
restaurant and bar is something you’re
more likely to find in a downtown
New York City hotel. Alongside the
considerably more upscale restaurants
Marcus’ and 1609, Crown & Anchor offers a more relaxed, casual vibe.
While Crown & Anchor is great for
the hotel guests, it’s also a perfect
spot for a light dinner and drinks with
friends, just far enough away to avoid
the hustle and bustle of Hamilton, but
near enough that you can walk back to
the city, should you find yourself in the
mood for said hustle and bustle. Inside,
the modern decor is matched with contemporary music, while the terrace seating outside provides unrivaled views of
the harbor and the various super yachts
that dock at the Princess marina.
Despite the modern, bright and airy
ambiance, the menu reflects pared-
down traditional British and Bermudian
fare, with entrees such as the Chef’s
Curry, grilled chicken pillared, braised
lamb shank, and bangers and mash.
And if you’re looking for something
lighter, a great selection of classic
salads and sandwiches are also on
offer. As with all the Hamilton Princess
restaurants, local produce is used
whenever possible.
While there are no dinner specials,
the restaurant does have seasonal
and holiday specials, such as last
year’s “Create Your Own Burger” and
strawberry buffet with marshmallows
and mousse. Most recently, the chef
crafted unique Bermudian dishes for
each day of the Easter weekend.
Along with the special menu items,
there are also drink specials through-
out the week, and “Bacardi Tasters”
every Wednesday.
If dinner isn’t on the evening’s agen-
da, there’s plenty of room at the lively
bar, which sports a broad selection of
fine cognac, as well as the Princess’
signature rum, traditional Goslings rum,
and fifteen different selections of wine
and champagne. There’s also a menag-
erie of fine cigars, if you’re looking to
