Executive Chef Chad Mitchell plays up
the restaurant name by plating perfectly
cooked cuts every time: tender, juicy
and red inside. In addition to classic
steaks such as filet mignon, strip, ribeye
and cowboy, the kitchen also prepares
an impeccably grilled and divinely seasoned 28oz Porterhouse for two.
Red’s well-rounded menu caters to
all tastes, marrying farm-fresh veggies,
locally caught seafood and an always
intriguing list of daily specials. Gourmet
vegetarian options include creatively
topped salads featuring Bermuda kale
and house vinaigrettes; and a sun-dried
tomato gnocchi with asparagus spears
and shaved parmesan. Meanwhile,
fresh in-season Bermuda lobster shines
in Red’s popular bouillabaisse dish, a
colourful seafood medley flavored with
saffron and served with local vegeta-
bles. Finally, round out your meal with
one of Red’s indulgent and expertly ex-
ecuted sides; the lobster mac n cheese
and parmesan truffle fries are to die for.
Trendy, upbeat and ideally situated
on Front Street, Red’s bar is one of
Hamilton’s favorite happy hour meeting spots, especially among young
working professionals. The restaurant
has an extensive selection of beers,
IPAs and ciders, plus a comprehensive
wine list featuring over 200 labels. Add
to the mix a delicious bar menu that offers foodie-friendly “snacks” like warm
baked brie and crispy calamari and
it’s no surprise that Red garners such
an enthusiastic following. Indeed, on
weekends, the bar transforms into one
of Hamilton’s hottest nightclubs, serving a wide array of premier cocktails to
the tune of live entertainment and DJs.

Ultra-modern stools and high-backed
sofa chairs contrast against the deep
hues of an antique 1920s wooden bar

For a steakhouse, Red’s seating arrangements are as unique as the decor.
Inside, there’s the classic dining room,
the lounge and the VIP mezzanine,
while outside is the restaurant’s true
prize: the harbour-view patio. Be sure to

an alfresco evening as Red’s coveted
