elcome to Paraquet, where good
service is key and generous,
homemade meals are king. For over
50 years, this dedicated, family-run restaurant
has honoured a time-worn commitment to dishing
out satisfying, heartwarming food.
W
Now into its third generation, the kitchen’s
ample menu attracts all kinds, from
Bermudians to tourists, businessmen to
families. Paraquet’s servers are more than
just courteous, welcoming and very patient with kids- they’re also experienced
and intuitive, knowing just when to top up
your coffee and offer you dessert. Simply
put, Paraquet is a local staple, complete
with cushion-top stools, a casual vibe and
generous, fulfilling portions that won’t
break your pocket book.
One of the few true diners in
Bermuda, Paraquet is known for its
loyal followers who return weekly for
a feel-good, home-style meal and a
slice of their famous mile-high lemon
meringue pie. A long list of reasonably
priced breakfast, lunch and dinner options appeal to all ages, from meatloaf
to mac n’ cheese to classic egg salad
sandwiches. There’s also a special
children’s menu that even the pickiest
eaters will enjoy. Just try to save room
for dessert- Paraquet bakes daily some
of the yummiest breads, cookies and
golden, pastry-topped mini apple tarts.
Situated on South Shore Road, a
quick nip from Hamilton, Paraquet is
close to a number of the island’s best
resorts and pink sand beaches- in fact
both Elbow and Horseshoe beach
are just right around the corner. After
a day in the hot sun, nothing beats a
Paraquet cheese burger, a thick chocolate milkshake and a handful of fries.
Other lunchtime favourites include
the buffalo chicken wrap and their
homemade soup of the day. Paraquet
also serves the 2015 Best of Bermuda
award-winning codfish and potatoes
breakfast- offered on Friday, Saturday
and Sunday, from 8am to 2pm. It’s a
real taste of Bermuda cooking and is
well worth the stop!
Reservations are not required, but are
